This site and the prints on it are sold by HankyFamily (Hanky Family Studio), the trading name of Fearnall Holdings Ltd (company no. 17166926), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

What this site is
HankyFamily is an art studio. The prints, the pages and the voice on our channels are artistic and historical commentary on a fifty-year-old visual code. Nothing on this site is advice — not about sex, health, relationships, identity, law or money — and nothing on it is an invitation to any act. The historical colour meanings are reported from published sources as a matter of record, not endorsed, recommended or explained for use. The 2026 words are the studio’s own artworks and are marked as such. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or speaking for any organisation, archive, community or person named on the site.
Adults
You must be 18 or over to buy. The archive at hankyfamily.com/archive is for adults only and is reached through an age statement; if you are under 18, do not enter it.
Using the site and our channels
You may read, share links and quote short passages with credit for review, criticism, news or study. You may not copy a print, a Study file or the mark for sale, reproduction or as a brand of your own; scrape the site; misrepresent a print as signed, official or affiliated when it is not; or use our channels to post sexual content, harassment, hate or anything that targets a person. We remove such posts and may block the account.
What you are buying
The Study is a numbered digital file (edition of 250 per code and side), a certificate and a provenance card, delivered by download or email on the day of purchase. The Print is an unsigned A3 giclée on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm, made to order in the UK by our print partner, Prodigi, and posted rolled in a rigid tube; it is sold during the 21-day window of its drop and not after, and it is numbered in the Register in order of sale. The same Print at the same price is sold in our TikTok Shop and on Etsy; orders placed there are governed by that platform’s terms as well as these. The Edition is a signed, numbered giclée print (edition of 25 per code and side) sold only to members of the Family during a dated drop window of 21 days, printed after the window closes and shipped flat. Every Study, Print and Edition number is recorded in the public Register at hankyfamily.com/register/. Numbers are issued in order of purchase and cannot be chosen.
Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include UK VAT where applicable. Payment is taken at the time of order through our payment provider; we never see or store card details. A Study bought in the twelve months before an Edition of the same code and side is credited in full against that Edition.
Delivery
Studies: same day, digitally. Prints: made and dispatched by Prodigi, usually within 3 working days, delivered by tracked post; UK delivery is typically 3–5 working days from order. Editions: within 28 days of the drop closing, tracked. International buyers are responsible for any import duty.
Cancellation and returns
Studies are digital content. By choosing immediate delivery you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once the file is delivered (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, reg. 37). Faulty files are replaced. Prints and Editions may be cancelled within 14 days of delivery for a full refund provided the print is returned unmarked in its packaging; return postage is the buyer’s. A Print that arrives damaged is replaced at no cost — send a photo to hello@hankyfamily.com within 14 days. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
Copyright and the mark
Every print is © Hanky Family Studio. A Study or Edition gives you the right to display the work privately and, for the Study, to make one print for your own wall. It does not transfer copyright or permit resale of the file. HANKY FAMILY® is a registered trade mark (UK00004351805). The historical codes belong to the communities that built them; we make no claim on them.
The Family
Membership is free and by email. We may close, pause or change the Family at any time. The referral rule (bring one person, you both open the next drop 48 hours earlier) applies while it is published on the site.
Corrections and takedown
The history is not ours. If a claim, a source or a name on this site is wrong, or if a community or archive asks us to change how something is described, write to hello@hankyfamily.com: we acknowledge within two working days and correct, credit or remove within ten. Every page carries the date it was last built so you can see what changed.
Liability
We are a small studio and we sell art. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that does not flow directly from a print or file we sold you, for how you use or display a work, or for the accuracy of a historical source we cite in good faith. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales. Complaints to hello@hankyfamily.com first; we answer within five working days.
